Summary

In general, the respondents endorsed Government's position on school viability and designation. It was felt that students should attend the nearest viable school, but that high school students should be able to travel further than at present in order to avail of greater program offerings. On the other hand, there seemed to be no difficulty with accepting multigrading for primary students if it meant they were able to attend school near their homes.

Busing issues were less definitive, with little support for increasing the busing eligibility distances for students. However, respondents were willing to consider other options such as staggered school opening and closing hours, as well as paying user fees, to support the busing service.
